An emergency meeting was held in connection with the fire in the second building of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The Director General of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev was informed about the incident at the meeting. It was noted that the State Fire Service was immediately informed about the fire in the administrative building of the II building of the Institute, and 3 fire engines and employees of the relevant agency were involved in the incident. Then, taking into account that there was no serious danger due to the fire, two fire engines returned, and one fire brigade inspected the area to investigate the possible dangers.

Speaking at the emergency meeting, the Director General of the Institute instructed to establish a commission to strengthen fire safety to prevent such cases. He said the commission will monitor all necessary technical equipment, energy carriers and distributors, provision of firefighting and fire protection equipment in the administrative buildings of the Institute.

In the end, I. Mustafayev called on all employees of the Institute to be careful and follow safety rules when using electrical equipment, energy carriers, technical devices and installations, taking into account the weather conditions in administrative buildings.
