An employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS participated in the summer school organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences

Abbasova Cicek Yurik gizi, an employee of the "Innovative Ionizing Beam Receivers" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, participated in the Summer School on "Basic Science and Requirement of Academic Life" organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TAS) on September 26-30, 2022. Researchers in various fields of science (physics, chemistry, medicine, mathematics, etc.) from countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Albania, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, Pakistan, Moldova participated in the summer school. The aim of the summer school was to provide participants with information about various natural sciences, mainly fundamental sciences and the demands of academic life.

Speaking at the opening of the program, director of TAS, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Sheker reminded that the TAS Summer School was organized since 2017 with the theme "International Law, Diplomacy and Cooperation" and 2022 declared the "International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development" by the United Nations. In this context, as the TAS Academic Council, we dedicated the topic of the Summer School to basic sciences, and changed its name to "Fundamental Sciences and Requirements of Academic Life". Along with many TAS Members, scientists from various Universities and Institutions of Turkey met with our Summer School students. Our Summer School, organized for the fourth time, aims to contribute to the cooperation between the scientists and specialists of the Turkic world, brotherly and neighboring countries, and every year builds new bridges and paves the way for scientific cooperation. The strengthening of this cooperation is promising for all of us."

Then Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, the director of TUBITAK, a full member of TUBA, made a presentation on "Creating a policy for the development of basic science and technologies". Muhsin Kar, Bilge Demirköz, Mehmet İşleyen, Ekrem Savaş, Nihat Berker and the presentations of other TAS member professors were heard. At the end of the presentations, the questions of the participants were answered, Cicek Abbasova, an employee of our Institute, actively participated in these discussions.

On the 4th day of the summer school, an excursion was organized to TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MRC) and the participants got acquainted with various laboratories. There were discussions between Prof. Dr. Ismail Küçük and Prof. Dr. Nizamettin Erduran and the participants.

At the end of the summer school, director of TAS Muzaffer Şeker presented certificates to many of the participants, including our employee Cicek Abbasova.
