A meeting was held with Professor Aziz Aftakhari of University of Tabriz at the Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

Speaking at the meeting, the General Director of IRP, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev welcomed the guest and informed about the history of the Institute, as well as scientific research directions and important results obtained.

Speaking later, Professor Aziz Aftakhari expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality, he also talked about his recent visit to the Shusha and shared his impressions about the ongoing reconstruction and improvement works.

At the meeting, Aftakhari, who gave a presentation entitled "Application of nanotechnologies in the field of environment and medicine", first talked about his scientific activities and cooperation relations, then he gave information about nanotechnologies and effective methods of use, toxicological effects of environmental pollution on the human body, including modern technologies for detection and treatment of cellular diseases.
