A scientific seminar was held at the institute

A scientific seminar on “Organic waste recycling using modern detonation technologies” was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of the Institute of Radiation Problems.

The General Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who gave an introductory speech at the seminar, welcomed the participants and voiced his opinions about the importance of the seminar and the topic, the speaker also introduced Vugar Khudaverdiyev, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, employee of the Federal Research Center for Chemical Physics named after N.N. Semyonov to the participants of the seminar.

Later, Seljan Hajiyeva, a junior researcher of the institute, informed the participants of the event about the speaker's biography.

Speaking at the seminar, Vugar Khudaverdiyev said that the problem of ecologically clean disposal of organic waste is on a global scale, and the most promising solution to this problem is the process of processing waste with the combined use of high-temperature pyrolysis and gasification methods, during which carbon is completely transformed into gaseous products.

In the seminar, employees of the "Combustion and Explosion" department of the Federal Research Center for Chemical Physics named after N.N. Semyonov explained in detail the working principle of the mobile version of the mini-plant, which is comparable to plasma in terms of the quality of waste gasification, and a unique device.

Later, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry Ulviyya Guliyeva gave detailed information to the participants about the updated “Regulations on the procedure for awarding scientific degrees” and the “Regulations on the procedure for awarding scientific names” of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the end of the seminar, many questions of the participants were answered.
