The young scientist of the institute made a presentation at the Azerbaijan Cooperation University

Aybeniz Ahadova, a young scientist of the Institute of Radiation Problems, made a presentation at the Azerbaijan Cooperation University. A. Ahadova, who gave a presentation at the seminar held in the format of a master class with the participation of the students of the University's “Museum, Archive work and Monuments protection” department, first informed about the activities of the "Radioisotope dating of archaeological finds" group at the Institute under the leadership of Sahib Mammadov, the leading researcher of IRP and said that currently 3 methods (Radiocarbon, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, Thermoluminescence) are applied in the research conducted in the laboratory.

The young scientist spoke about the importance of applying the methods of radioisotope dating of archaeological finds in our country, especially the importance of re-examining and applying these methods to our material and culture samples destroyed and falsified by the Armenians in the Karabakh region, also talked about the activities of our local qualified personnel in this field.

During the presentation, A. Ahadova demonstrated some procedures of radioisotope dating methods on visual materials (animal and human teeth, ceramics, bone and textile remains, pottery samples, natural quartz and feldspar samples, etc.) to the event participants.

At the end of the interesting presentation, many questions of the participants were answered.

It should be noted that Eldeniz Maharramov, Dean of the Faculty of Marketing and Management of the Azerbaijan Cooperation University, Sevinj Nasirova, Doctor of Philosophy in History, scientific secretary of the Azerbaijan National History Museum, and the teaching staff of the mentioned university also participated in the seminar.
