Scientists of the Institute participated in the event held in Portugal

Employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems participated in the kick-off meeting of the project "Innovative Photodetector Module for Advanced Hybrid "Magnetic Resonance/Positron Emission Tomography" Scanners for Nuclear Medicine" which won under call HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01.

The scientists of the "Innovative ionizing radiation receivers" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Ahmadov, Doctor of Physics, Associate Professor and Gadir Ahmadov, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, participated in the kick-off meeting of the project "Innovative Photodetector Module for Advanced Hybrid Magnetic Resonance/Positron Emission Tomography Scanners for Nuclear Medicine" won under call HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01 organized on March 13-16 at Lusofona University in Lisbon, Portugal.

At the meeting, the project supervisor appointed by the European Commission, Dr. Katarzyna Lyon, project coordinator Professor Svitlana Lyubchyk (University of Lusofona, Portugal), group leader Prof. Dr. Ercan Yilmaz (Bolu Abant Izzent Baysal University, Turkey), group leader Prof. Dr. Michael Holik (Czech Technical University-Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics, Czech Republic), group leader Prof. Dr. Ondrej Urban (Faculty of Electrical Engineering - University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic), group leader Prof. Dr. Andriy Lyubchyk (CASCATACHUVA LDA (CASCATA), group leader Prof. Dr. Igor Maliuk (Institute of Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ukraine), group leader Dr. Farid Ahmadov (Institute of Radiation Problems, Azerbaijan) and group leader Dr. Azer Sadigov (Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Azerbaijan) made speeches and discussed the main articles of the consortium agreement. The tasks and obligations of the institutions on the work packages of the project were approved, and an agreement was reached for the signing of the contract among the consortium members in the next months.

At the same time, the participants of the meeting got acquainted with the scientific works conducted in the newly established laboratory in the direction of "Green Energy" at the University of Lusofona and exchanged views on future joint cooperation in this field.

It should be noted that from the Azerbaijani side, Farid Ahmadov and Gadir Ahmadov, employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Jalal Naghiyev, Azer Sadigov, employees of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and Matanat Ismayilova, an employee of Innovative Electronics and Detectors LLC, took part in the meeting.
