The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev, who delivered the introductory speech, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the meeting, the scientists of the institute - Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Rovshan Khalilov and Doctor of Physics, Associate Professor Elchin Huseynova were presented with diplomas awarded by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for the high reference indicators of their scientific works.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council, the issue of attestation of employees, doctoral students and dissertations studying at the Institute were discussed, and a competition commission was established to review the documents of candidates who will participate in the election competition for the position of head of the Institute's "Radiobiology" and "Renewable Energy Conversion" laboratories and head of the "Design-Constructor" department, as well as the employee of the "Radiochemistry and Radioprotectors" laboratory Nijat Mirzayev's secondment period at the United Nuclear Research Institute was extended by 1 (one) year.

At the event, permission was obtained for the publication of the monograph "The role of compounds of natural origin in the protection of plants from radiation stress", prepared by Zohra Muslimova, senior researcher of the "Radiochemistry and Radioprotectors" laboratory, doctor of philosophy in biology.

At the meeting, an election was held for the position of the head of the Education Department of the Institute of Radiation Problems, and Narmin Guliyeva, the chairman of the Council of Young Scientist and Specialists, was awarded the said position.

In the end, opinions were exchanged on the strengthening of labor discipline, the condition of the devices and equipment belonging to the Institute, as well as a number of current issues.
