The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev, who delivered the introductory speech, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the meeting, firstly, the memorandum of understanding with the Educational Complex named after the National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, the results of the conference "Radiation technologies and their applications" held at the Institute at the beginning of this month and preparations for the new conference, as well as the issues of ensuring the implementation of the relevant provisions of the cooperation section in the field of education and science of the Protocol of the 9th meeting of the Joint Commission on economic cooperation between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Hungary were considered.

Then the application of Nabi Aliyev, PhD in Physics, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of "Radiation Physics of Polymers and Electroactive Materials" for the scientific title of associate professor was considered, the issue of authorizing the publication of the monographs entitled "Effect of ionizing rays on Turkish lignites" presented by the senior researcher of the "Energy-absorbing radiation processes" laboratory, doctor of philosophy in chemistry Fetullah Cicek, and "Neutron-nanoparticle interaction and neutron transformations in 3C-SiC nanocrystals" by the leading researcher of the "Radiation Physics of Disordered Solids" laboratory, doctor of physical sciences, associate professor Elchin Huseynov was discussed.

In the meeting, the decision of the commission for the documents of applicants who will participate in the election for the positions of head of the "Radiobiology" and "Conversion of Renewable Energy Types" laboratories of the Institute of Radiation Problems, head of the "Design-Constructor" department, the results of attestation of employees, reports on business trips, strengthening of labor discipline and discussions on current issues were considered.
