An event dedicated to "May 28 —Independence Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first, and then the memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was honored with a minute of silence.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of the Institute and corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, spoke about May 28 —Independence Day — and informed the event participants about the historical significance of this day, the struggle of our people, and the traditions of statehood.

Speaking later, the executive director of the Institute, the chairman of the Institute Women's Council, and the territorial organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, doctor of philosophy in physics and mathematics, associate professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, said that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic republic in the East, emerged as a logical result of the socio-economic, socio-political, and cultural development, national awakening, and revival processes of our people.
