The general meeting of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The General Director of the Institute and corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who delivered the introductory speech, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the meeting, I. Mustafayev first congratulated the employees on the new working season and wished them success in their effective scientific activities.

The Honorary Order was then given to associate professor Khagani Mammadov, a doctor of chemical sciences and the head of the "Radiochemistry and Radioprotectors" laboratory, in recognition of his significant accomplishments and active participation in research missions. Ibrahim Gabulov, a member of the Institute's international relations department and a candidate in physics and mathematics, was also given the Honorary Order in honor of his 60th birthday.

Later, he wished success and congratulated Haji Vahid Akhundzade, a young scientist from the institute who received the 10th "Mobility Grant" this year from the Azerbaijan Science Foundation. He also congratulated Rena Khankishiyeva, a young scientist from the institute who received the "Best Woman Inventor Award" at the 8th International Innovative Invention Competition held in Canada, and professor Muslim Gurbanov, a doctor of chemical sciences and the head of the "Environmental Radiation Chemistry" laboratory, who had been awarded an IAEA grant.

Islam Mustafayev spoke about the new development dynamics of the Institute of Radiation Problems and touched on the published articles, patents, and the most important scientific results.

At the meeting, I. Mustafayev, who also spoke about the defense of dissertations and scientific research, gave information about the material and technical base of the institute and its effective use, as well as the repair work done in the current year.

In the end, information was given about the conference entitled "Radiation Safety Problems: Regional Aspects", which will be held in Nakhchivan on October 18-19 and is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of academician Mahmud Karimov. Scientists were invited to actively participate in the conference.
