An employee of the institute was awarded the Presidential Award for Youth

An employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education, Bakhishova Rzayeva Kimyakhanim, who carried out dissertation research at the Laboratory of Innovative Ionizing Radiation Detectors, was awarded the Presidential Award for Youth in 2024.

Bakhishova Rzayeva Kimyakhanim was admitted to the English stream of the Physics Faculty of Baku Engineering University in 2013 and graduated with honors in 2018. In 2019, she was admitted to a master's degree in "Radiation materials science" at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and graduated with honors in 2021. She attended the International Atomic Energy Agency's Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Program (MSCFP) at Nuclear Securiy School in Vienna, Austria, took part in a seminar on the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials and its Amendment, and participated in the internship program on Information technologies in the Department of Applied Radiobiology and Radiotherapy at the International Atomic Energy Agency for a year. K.Z. Bakhishova Rzayeva is the first Azerbaijani student to win the Maria Skadlovskaya-Curie Scholarship Program of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AEBA). Since 2023, she has started researching her dissertation work entitled "Development of radiation-resistant avalanche silicon detectors by changing the sizes of the epitaxial layer and pixels." Her successful studies and research have earned her this Award.
