Matanat Mehrabova, leading scientific researcher of the laboratory “Radiation Physics of Disordered Solids” of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS participated in the seminar in Moscow, Russian Federation

      Leading scientific research worker of the laboratory “Radiation physics of disordered solids” of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, Ph.D. in phys.-math., associate professor Matanat Mehrabova was invited to the seminar held within the framework of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe International Cooperation Program on Vegetation (UNECE ICP Vegetation) in Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russia. In order to attend the event, she went on a business trip in Dubna, Moscow in 29.02.2016 – 04.03.2016.
      More than 30 countries were represented by 85 participants in the 29th meeting of the working group of UNECE ICP Vegetation, devoted to 60-year anniversary of the “Joint Institute for Nuclear Research”. In the meeting which lasted 5 days, the reports of the member-participant countries were presented and discussed. The representatives of those countries presented their annual reports on study of environmental situation on air in their areas and cross-border regions and the results they achieved. In the meeting it was discussed the issues on pollution of air with heavy metals and radioactive elements and also ozone through moss and revised methods and proposals.
      The initial research results of Azerbaijan were presented to the event participants. A program plan was prepared in order Azerbaijan to join the above-mentioned program. It was decided to carry out preparations for signing a scientific cooperation agreement between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna (JINR) and the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS (IRP). Negotiations were held with delegations from European countries and agreements were made on joint participation of IRP ANAS in European Union grants. On the other hand, an agreement was reached among delegations on issuing joint projects with Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Istanbul Technical University, Tbilisi State University, National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other organizations.
