An event dedicated to March 1 - Worldwide Civil Defense Day was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

At the event, "Civil Defense -Effective management of emergency situations by national institutions," an exhibition of Civil Defense tools under the PPI was organized, as well as an educational video clip on a monitor mounted in the Institute's lobby.

Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Ogtay Samadov spoke about the importance of Civil Defense and shared his views on the effective management of emergencies.

Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics Ravan Mehdiyeva, Deputy Director General for General Affairs, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Hokman Mahmudov, Chief Engineer Khayyam Safikhanov and heads of laboratories made presentations.
