The meeting was organized with the students and teachers of Sumgayit State University between the scientists of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). At the meeting held within the framework of the "Science Day", the Director of the RPI, Corresponding Member of ANAS Ogtay Samadov made a report about "Yesterday and Today of Radiation Research". O.Samedov praised the state care for the development of science and education in our country, as well as informed the participants about the history, scientific research directions, laboratory activities and results that achieved by the Institute. Then, the head of the Laboratory of "Energy Radiation Processes" Laboratory, correspondent member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev spoke about the application of radiation methods to the solution of various environmental problems and research work carried out in the RPI.

Head of Laboratory of Radiobiology, Professor Elimkhan Jafarov, Head of Laboratory of Radiation Physics of Semiconductors, Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Professor Rahim Madatov, Head of Laboratory of Radiation Processes Energy, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Hokman Mahmudov and the Institute's leading researcher, Doctor of Physics Nushaba Hajiyeva delivered a report on the scientific research work and achievements of the laboratories.At the end of the meeting o teachers and students questions were answered by our scientists.
