AR President Ilham Aliyev received president of Russian Academy of Sciences
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received President of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation Alexander Sergeyev on May 21.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev said that, this meeting with is of great importance for him and for the Russian Academy of Sciences as a whole.
Noting that in previous years there was a fruitful partnership between the academies of sciences, Alexander Sergeev said that, in the subsequent period scientific contacts were interrupted, he stressed the importance of renewing ties.
AR President Ilham Aliyev noted that, previously existing traditional ties in the scientific field create a good basis for the development of cooperation now and in the future.
Touching upon the successes achieved by Russian science in recent years, the head of state stressed the good potential for further scientific cooperation between our countries.
President Ilham Aliyev said that, the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in the political, economic and other fields creates good opportunities for expanding ties and implementing joint projects also in the scientific field.
The head of state expressed confidence that, the visit of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Sergeyev, to Azerbaijan will make a contribution to development of scientific cooperation between our countries and acceptance of concrete steps in this area.
During the conversation, an exchange of views on the prospects of cooperation took place.
