The young employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) made a breakthrough in the history of the researching of Gobustan monuments.

A young researcher of the “Dating Archaeological Findings” group led by senior researcher at the Institute of Radiation Problems associate professor Sahib Mammadov, junior researcher at laboratory of environmental radiation chemistry Aybeniz Ahmadova made field investigations in Gobustan National Historical Artistic Reverse where the archaeological complex is located and she investigated the age of the ceramic sample from the lower pavement of the mount Boyukdash by the thermoluminescence method and revealed that the sample has 5655 year history.

Note that for the first time in the history of the investigation of Gobustan monuments, this ceramic sample was analyzed by radioisotope method. In addition, tooth samples from this investigation area were also examined by using the electronic paramagnetic resonance method, and it was proved that those tooth samples date from to 1894 and 1353 years earlier.
