An educational event was held at the Institute

An educational event was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The event, organized by the Trade Union of the Institute and dedicated to the "Coronavirus Disease and Preventive Measures" was attended by the Institute's staff and specialist doctors in different areas - Kamala Jalilova of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Yasamal district.

At the event, Deputy Director of Science at the Institute, PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva said that hundreds of lives have been affected by the spread of new coronavirus outbreak in China's Uhan region, which has already been registered in several countries and the number of cases of infection has increased. R. Mehdiyeva said that our country is engaged in extensive trade with the People's Republic of China and given the seriousness of the situation, efforts are being made to prevent this virus from entering Azerbaijan.

Than, the epidemiologist doctor of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Yasamal district, Kamala Jalilova, spoke about the history of the formation and spread of coronavirus. Epidemiologist doctor said that a new coronavirus was spread from the seafood market in Uhan, China and vaccines had not been discovered yet treat this virus. According to her, the rapid spread of the virus to other countries has caused worldwide concern. The epidemiologist noted that there is no case of infection in our country at the moment and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been instructed to take preventive measures. At the end of the event, the epidemiologists provided information on the necessary measures to prevent the epidemic, as well as answered questions from the staff of the Institute.
