Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev took part in the 65th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

I. Mustafayev as part of the delegation representing Azerbaijan attended meetings with the IAEA Technical Assistance Organization and the IAEA Nuclear Security Department, as well as delegations from Turkey, Pakistan and Argentina in Vienna, Austria.

At the meeting Environmental radiation monitoring carried out at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, “hotspot detection”, use of radiation technologies in plastic waste processing, application of radiation technologies to increase crop productivity and environmental resilience in agriculture, as well as research on radiation safety in the Caspian Sea were discussed.
