The Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) together with the Women's Council of the organization held an event dedicated to December 12 - National Leader Heydar Aliyev's Memorial Day.

At the beginning of the event, the memory of the great leader was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev spoke about the works done by the genius Heydar Aliyev in the fields of economic and political, science, education, culture and state building, reforms and spoke about their exemplary results.

At the end of his speech, Islam Mustafayev said that in recent years, serious reforms and significant work have been carried out in the Academy to ensure the effective integration of science and education, accelerate the development of scientific potential and increase the interest of young people in science. One of the main goals of the reforms was to develop the education system at ANAS at a modern level.

Speaking at the event, Executive Director of the Institute and Chairwoman of the Women's Council, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva noted that during his presidency, Heydar Aliyev worked tirelessly for the progress of Azerbaijan, always proud of his great historical past and rich culture, and brought his native Azerbaijan out of the hardships of time as a state. The strengthening of independence, eternal and irreversible, the dynamic path of development and the rapid growth of international prestige in our country have been achieved thanks to the intense and effective activity of Heydar Aliyev.

Ravan Mehdiyeva said that the active performance of women in our country has always been in the center of attention, and the greatest leader Heydar Aliyev praised the Azerbaijani woman.

Speaking about the successes of women in all spheres of activity in Azerbaijan during the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev, R.Mehdiyeva concluded that First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva raised the prestige of Azerbaijani women in the international arena with her multifaceted and exemplary activities. .

At the end of the commemorative event, a documentary titled "Architect of the Independent Motherland" about the rich, tireless and irreplaceable activities of the national leader was shown.
