An employee of the institute was awarded the Presidential Award for Youth

An employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education, Bakhishova Rzayeva Kimyakhanim, who carried out dissertation research at the Laboratory of Innovative Ionizing Radiation Detectors, was awarded the Presidential Award for Youth in 2024.

Bakhishova Rzayeva Kimyakhanim was admitted to the English stream of the Physics Faculty of Baku Engineering University in 2013 and graduated with honors in 2018. In 2019, she was admitted to a master's degree in "Radiation materials science" at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and graduated with honors in 2021.

An event dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems on February 2

At the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event dedicated to “February 2 - Azerbaijan Youth Day” was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Experts (CYSS), with support from the Trade Union Organization of the Institute.

The General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, delivered an opening address, extending heartfelt congratulations to the young scientists and specialists on the occasion of “February 2 - Azerbaijan Youth Day.” He expressed his sincere wishes for their continued success in their future scientific and social pursuits. I. Mustafayev emphasized the enduring legacy of the youth policy, initially established by the national leader H. Aliyev and continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He highlighted the unwavering trust our state places in the youth across all spheres of scientific and social engagement. Recognizing the pivotal role of young people in our country's development, I. Mustafayev reaffirmed the importance of patriotic youth in navigating these challenging and crucial stages. He pledged steadfast support for them on their journey forward.

The employee of the institute was on an official journey abroad

Matanat Mehrabova, doctor of physical sciences and leading researcher of the "Conversions of Renewable Energy Sources" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was on an official journey to Turkey's Gazi University from August 1, 2024, to December 1, 2024, within the framework of the ERASMUS program.

During the visit, she got acquainted with the teaching and scientific research processes in the departments of Physics, Computer Engineering, Electricity and Electronics, and Architecture at Gazi University, gave seminars, and discussed the possibilities of conducting collaborative research and projects with the heads of the departments.

The presentation of the textbook entitled "Radiation Safety" was held

      The Institute of Radiation Problems held the presentation of the textbook entitled "Radiation Safety", which was created with the assistance of teachers from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. Teachers and heads of departments from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, and Azerbaijan Technical University participated in the event in addition to the Institute's staff members. In his introductory speech, Islam Mustafayev, Corresponding Member of ANAS and Director General of the Institute, briefed the attendees on the book's contents and its intended audience: students and engineering and technical specialists enrolled in higher technical schools.

A commemorative event dedicated to January 20—the National Day of Mourning—was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Republic of Azerbaijan's National Anthem was played first, and then there was a minute of silence in memory of our martyrs.

In his introductory remarks, Professor Islam Mustafayev, the general director of the scientific institution and corresponding member of ANAS, stressed that the events of January 20 were both a tragic setback for the Azerbaijani independence movement and a momentous occasion in our nation's history. He pointed out that despite the Soviet Union's secret services' best efforts to subdue the unarmed civilians with massive machinery and a variety of weapons, the people's resolve would not be broken. During those trying times, our brave boys and daughters sacrificed their lives in front of Russian army tanks, becoming the pinnacle of martyrdom. This incident was a turning point in the restoration of our state's independence and had a significant impact on the development of our national identity.

A scientific seminar entitled "Artificial intelligence: scientific basis and rules of use" was arranged by the Council of Young Scientists and Experts at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the seminar, Gulchin Abdullayeva, an employee of the Institute of Management Systems, Ph.D. in mathematics, and associate professor, spoke about the history of the creation and development of artificial intelligence, as well as the possibilities of its application in various fields of science and the rules of effective use.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute was held

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Professor Islam Mustafayev, the Institute's director general and corresponding member of ANAS, addressed the attendees during his speech by bringing up the topics on the agenda.

At the event, the issue of celebrating the anniversaries of the head of the "Radiation Physics of Magnetoelectrics" laboratory, Professor Rauf Sardarli, and the leading researcher of the "Radiation Chemistry of Heterogeneous Processes" laboratory, Associate Professor Yadigar Jafarov, was discussed.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Institute and Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

The topic of the 2023 results was first raised at the gathering. The institute's activity was deemed successful overall throughout the discussions, and it was stressed how crucial it was to build on this success the next year.

Recent findings from the Institute of Radiation Problems' age determination research

Studies on age determination at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan have yielded new findings.

Thus, Aybeniz Ahadova, a junior researcher in the Institute's "Archaeological Dating" section, used "Electron Paramagnetic Resonance" and "Thermoluminescence" techniques to ascertain the ages of the ancient archeological findings. She discovered during her investigation that the tooth sample from the ancient Khudutepe town, which was found in the Jalilabad region, dates back to 6225 BC.

The Institute of Radiation Problems hosted a meeting for the educators and students of the Bilasuvar Kindergarden-School-High School Complex

Representatives of the instructors and students of the Bilasuvar Kindergarden-School-High School Complex—named for Azerbaijan's National Hero, Mubariz Ibrahimov—met at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The conference was arranged with the intention of giving scientific support to Lyceum students for their ideas prepared for the Republican competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" by the Institute's scientists, in accordance with the Memorandum on Mutual Cooperation. At the meeting, the teachers of the said Lyceum, Siyasat Isayev and Shahmar Bayramov, as well as 11th grade students, Elmir Alizade, Kamala Guliyeva, Lamiya Babazade, and Togrul Mehdiyev, as well as the Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, the Institute's scientist Secretary, Amina Mikayilova, Head of the Education Department, Narmin Guliyeva, and scientists of the Institute who supported the preparation of the projects, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Rahim Madatov, Magsud Nazarov, and Namig Heydarov, who led the preparation of the projects, participated.

The institute honored the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev

      A commemoration ceremony for national leader Mr. H. Aliyev was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of AR MSE. The ceremony began with the anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and then the dear memory of the great leader H. Aliyev was commemorated with a minute's silence. The general director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS, I. Mustafayev, who opened the ceremony with an introductory speech, stated that although Mr. H. Aliyev physically left us 20 years ago, his ideas still live today, and our independent republic is getting stronger day by day on the foundations laid by the national leader because the Commander-in-Chief successfully implemented the great leader's wills. He also spoke about the events held by the institute on the eve of H. Aliyev's year.

The Institute of Radiation Problems has signed a new cooperation agreement

A three-year agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (GGI).

Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems and Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, and Director General of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Academician Akif Alizade, signed the aforementioned document.
