The Institute of Radiation Problems published its articles in a journal with a high impact factor

2 articles authored and co-authored by employees of the "Radioisotope Dating" group of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan were published in a journal with an impact factor.

The articles "Comprehensive Investigation of Neolithic Ceramic Samples: Firing Technology and Age Insights" and "The Thermoluminescence Parameters of Irradiated K-Feldspar" authored and co-authored by senior researchers of the institute, associate professor Sahib Mammadov, and junior researcher Aybeniz Ahadova, were published in "East European Journal of Physics".

A preliminary discussion of the graduation theses of students took place in the Institute of Radiation Problems

Arzu Alkhanova and Rauf Mammadov, who were majoring in "Physics Teaching" in their final year of study at Baku Engineering University, held a preliminary discussion of their final theses at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The graduation projects on "Study of superionic conductivity in TlGaSe2 crystal" and "Impedance spectra of TlSe crystal in the radio frequency range" carried out in the "Radiation Physics of Magnetoelectrics" laboratory of the Institute under the supervision of Professor Rauf Sardarli, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, met with interest and provided answers to audience questions.

The project developed with the support of RPI won the CASPIAN STARTUP 2023 competition

The project, prepared with assistance from the "Innovative Research Group" of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was declared the winner of the international competition held in Kazakhstan.

The project called "Robobin" (Robot IT) developed by Amina Asadova, a 10th-grade student of school No. 36, under the guidance of the head of the "Innovative Research Group" Namig Heydarov, was awarded the first place in the CASPIAN STARTUP 2023 competition, and A. Asadova was granted the right to free education for the "Robotics and mechatronics" bachelor's degree of "Kazakh-British Technical University".

The consortium with the participation of Azerbaijani scientists won the grant under the EU framework programme

The project “Novel detector concept for medical gamma probe” (Grant Number No. 101129879) presented by scientists from the Institute for Radiation Problems within the framework of an international consortium was selected for funding under the “HORIZON EUROPE” MSCA-2022-SE-01 programme. The project was developed based on the scientific results and developed detector structures achieved by Azeri scientists in recent years. The project is planned to be implemented within 48 months. During this period, it is planned the preparation and investigation the parameters of new photodiodes, preparation and testing readout electronics, as well as preparation and testing the detector module. The main goal of the project is to develop new detection system for medical gamma probes operating in a wide range of energies with compact dimensions and to study external influences on its parameters.

An event dedicated to "May 28 —Independence Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

An event dedicated to "May 28 —Independence Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first, and then the memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was honored with a minute of silence.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of the Institute and corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, spoke about May 28 —Independence Day — and informed the event participants about the historical significance of this day, the struggle of our people, and the traditions of statehood.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The General Director of the Institute and corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who delivered the introductory speech, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the meeting, Doctor of Physics, Associate Professor Nushaba Hajiyeva, and Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Oktay Salamov, were awarded the Honorary Order for their many years of scientific and scientific-pedagogical activities.

Then, the young scientists of the institute, Rena Atakishiyeva and Rakhshana Mamishova, were presented with diplomas of "Doctor of Philosophy" (in chemistry) and "Associate Professor" (in the specialty of "Radiation Materials Science").

A preliminary discussion of the dissertation work of the graduate student of the institute was held

The preliminary discussion of the dissertation of Rushanova Gulzar Mehman, a graduate student of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held.

Gulzar Rushanova, who made a presentation about the thesis work entitled "The influence of rays on the impedance spectra of (TlS)1-x (TlSe)x (x 0; 0.1, 0.2) solid solutions," received a positive opinion, gave detailed information, and finally answered many questions.

The scientist of the Institute of Radiation Problems was included in the international rating list

Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, associate professor Oktay Salamov who is the head of the Laboratory of “Transformation of Renewable Energy Sources” of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was included in the rating list compiled by the Central Library of the Russian Federation.

The mentioned list was compiled based on the articles of world scientists published in the international journal "Alternative Energy and Ecology" (Альтернативная энергетика и екология (ISJAEE)) and in the list of 2644 scientists from 53 countries, O. Salamov took 25th place.

Scientists of the Institute of Radiation Problems conducted new monitoring in the southern region

Employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Amina Mikayilova and Geys Ibrahimov conducted new monitoring in the southern region.

Radioecological observations of water content and bottom sediments were carried out in the monitoring conducted in transboundary rivers of the region, Balharı reservoir located in Bilasuvar district, Balharu river, Tekdam waterfall located in Yardimli district, Istisu located in Masalli district, as well as in the part of Pensarchay passing through Astara district, as well as samples were taken for chemical research.

Institute of Radiation Problems signed a Memorandum with Bilasuvar Educational Complex named after National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov

The Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan has signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation with the Bilasuvar Kindergarten-School-High School Complex named after the National Hero of Azerbaijan Mubariz Ibrahimov.

A meeting was held between the Institute delegation consisting of the General Director of RPI, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, Scientific Secretary Amina Mikayilova, General Manager Famin Salmanov, Head of the Education Department Narmin Guliyeva, Head of the "Innovative Research" Group Namig Heydarov, and teacher-student team of the said Complex.

Speaking at the meeting, the executive director of the Bilasuvar Kindergarten -School-High School Complex, Agshin Bagirov, greeted the guests, gave information about the Complex, where modern innovative technological innovations are applied, and also talked about the importance of such mutual relations with prestigious science and educational institutions.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held.

The General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev, who delivered the introductory speech, brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the meeting, firstly, the memorandum of understanding with the Educational Complex named after the National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, the results of the conference "Radiation technologies and their applications" held at the Institute at the beginning of this month and preparations for the new conference, as well as the issues of ensuring the implementation of the relevant provisions of the cooperation section in the field of education and science of the Protocol of the 9th meeting of the Joint Commission on economic cooperation between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Hungary were considered.

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the management and numerous employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the grave of the great leader on the Alley of Honor and laid flowers at his grave.

The memory of genius Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with deep respect and reverence.

The Republican scientific-technical conference "Radiation technologies and their applications" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev's birth was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the end of the conference, academician Rasim Aliguliyev, vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANSA), Nijat Mammadli, adviser to the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nigar Aslanova, vice-rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, and other guests got acquainted with the research conducted in the laboratories of RPI.
