At the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 15-18, 2022, at the meetings of the Scientific Council of the Institute, the reports of the laboratories and departments dedicated to the results of the scientific-research works conducted during the year were held.

The General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev, who spoke at the meeting, introduced the participants to the issues on the agenda and informed them that the meetings of the Scientific Council will be held regularly in the next days and that the reports of four laboratories will be heard every day.

At the Institute of Radiation Problems, a meeting was held with a group of students studying "Ecological Engineering" at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.

The General Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Islam Mustafayev, gave extensive information to the guests about the scientific research works conducted in the Institute headed by him.

An event dedicated to "November 8 - Victory Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized by the Trade Union Organization of the Institute and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists.

At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was first played, and then the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Speaking at the event, the General Director of IRP, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev spoke about the history of the Patriotic War, People-President solidarity, the victories of the glorious Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief, and brought a number of statistical data to the attention of the event participants.

The final meeting of the Republican Scientific-Technical Conference on “Radiological and Chemical Risks in the liberated territories”, dedicated to the “Year of Shusha”, was held.

At the final meeting held in the historical city of Shusha, which is considered the cradle of our culture, first, the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence, the 44-day Victory Road of the Azerbaijani army, which made us proud with its glorious victories, and the history of the city of Shusha were discussed.

At the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republican Scientific-Technical Conference dedicated to the year of “Shusha” called ”Radiological and chemical risks in the territories liberated from occupation” has started its work.

The vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the head of the Physics-Mathematics and Technical Sciences Department of ANAS, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev, who gave an opening speech at the event, conveyed the congratulations of the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli and the members of the Presidium to the participants of the conference.

General Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, Head of the Institute's Education Department, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Amina Mikayilova and Assistant to the General Director, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Famin Salmanov participated in the International Conference on Nuclear Science and Technologies held in Izmir, Turkey.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP ).

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

At the event, reports on the results of scientific research conducted in 2022 at ANAS and other scientific and higher education institutions of the republic, as well as issues of renewing and strengthening relations between RPI and the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAAE) were reviewed.

A meeting was held with Professor Aziz Aftakhari of University of Tabriz at the Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

Speaking at the meeting, the General Director of IRP, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev welcomed the guest and informed about the history of the Institute, as well as scientific research directions and important results obtained.

Speaking later, Professor Aziz Aftakhari expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality, he also talked about his recent visit to the Shusha and shared his impressions about the ongoing reconstruction and improvement works.

Director General of RPI, Head of Department of AzUAC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev gave a speech on the topic "Risks arising in the management of pesticide waste" at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. During his speech, I. Mustafayev presented the facts obtained as a result of various studies and informed about the dangers posed by pesticide waste to the environment and human health.

Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev participated in the 66th Session of the General Assembly of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

At the Session held in Vienna, Austria, our country was also represented by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emergency Situations, Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Abbasova Cicek Yurik gizi, an employee of the "Innovative Ionizing Beam Receivers" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, participated in the Summer School on "Basic Science and Requirement of Academic Life" organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TAS) on September 26-30, 2022. Researchers in various fields of science (physics, chemistry, medicine, mathematics, etc.) from countries such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Albania, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, Pakistan, Moldova participated in the summer school. The aim of the summer school was to provide participants with information about various natural sciences, mainly fundamental sciences and the demands of academic life.

The article prepared with the participation of the employees of the "Ionizing Beam Recorders" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was published in the Nature Scientific Reports magazine with a high impact factor.

An event dedicated to "September 27 - Memorial Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

At the event, first, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, later the dear memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute's silence.

Speaking at the commemorative event, the Executive Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva spoke about the 44-day Patriotic War and the heroic deeds of the mighty Azerbaijani army and said that she was proud of the bravery of our soldiers and officers.
