Main area of activity of the structural unit: Production of polymer layers and polymer composites with electroactive properties; Study their modification processes under radiation influence; Study their application opportunities in γ-dosimetry; Production of different types of nanocomposites and Study γ-radiation effect on them.

Main scientifc achievements of the structural unit: The electrophysical and electroactive properties of polymer metal oxide composite systems and γ-radiation effect on these properties and charge state have been studied.
The luminescent properties of ploymer-luminaphor composite systems have been studied, at the present time the γ-modification of these composites is under investigation. Composites with lumnaphor 10-30% in volume amount have relatively better luminescent properties.
It has been established by spectroscopic methods that in thin polymer films produced by different methods the electric charge is determined by the film thickness and the surface energy of the substrate. It has been shown that there is a certain correlation between the crystal phase amount in polymers, density of macromolecule arrangement and surface charges.
A nano-sized and porous structure has been formed in commercial polymers by orientation-stretching method and the electret properties of the produced films have been studied. In the formed porous structures nanocomposites have been produced by generating nanoparticles of inorganic compounds using chemical sorption method. At the present time their electrophysical properties are studied.
