The institute hosted a meeting with Golden Crescent Society representatives

A meeting with representatives of the Golden Crescent Society was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education.

During the meeting, associate professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, the executive director of the institute, gave a speech on the significance of collaboration between the Institute of Radiation Problems and the Golden Crescent Society. Participants at the occasion were briefed by J. Naghiyeva about the society's activities and charitable endeavors.

The next scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

The Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Department of Emergency Situations and Safety of Life Activities of AzUAC, along with the physics and chemistry departments, jointly organized a scientific seminar on the topic of "Chernobyl accident: truths, mysteries, and modern radioecological situation."

During the seminar, Professor Namik Rashidov, a doctor of biological sciences who is also the head of the Biophysics of Signal Systems Laboratory of the Institute of Plant Cell and Genetic Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Radiobiology Laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems, spoke in-depth about the Chernobyl accident, the radioecological conditions in that region, and the changes that have occurred in the living world.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Professor Islam Mustafayev, the Director General of the Institute and a corresponding member of ANAS, addressed the participants and brought up the problems on the agenda. Then, on behalf of the Scientific Council, he congratulated Kimyakhanim Bakhishova, a young employee of the Institute, on receiving the 2023 Prezident’s Award for young people and wished her further success in her career. On behalf of the Scientific Council, he also congratulated A. Khaliqzadeh on receiving the Doctor of Philosophy degree.

The Novruz holiday was celebrated at the institute

The Institute of Radiation Problems hosted the trade union-organized Novruz holiday.

In his opening remarks, Director General of the Institute and Corresponding Member of ANAS, Islam Mustafayev, congratulated colleagues on the holiday and highlighted the unique significance of this year's Novruz holiday in our nation's history. Thus, celebrating our national holidays in the areas freed from occupation doubles the delight of the occasion for us, as our Glorious Army has brought a fair conclusion to the protracted battle in Karabakh and cleared our lands of enemies. This year, we should celebrate this holiday with a higher spirit.

Employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems participated in the tree-planting event

Under the theme "Solidarity for a Green World," the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations staged a tree-planting event in the Mushvigabad settlement on March 16. Employees of the Institute of Radiation Problems participated in the tree-planting event.

The Institute of Radiation Problems conducted blood testing

In accordance with the mutual cooperation agreement between the Scientific-Research Institute of Medical Prophylaxis named after Vali Akhundov and the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, blood samples were taken from Institute employees in order to study the impact of ionizing radiation on human health. Under the auspices of the Institute's Trade Union, the impact of radiation on blood and organs that create blood was examined in 83 employees' blood samples. These works were performed without charge by the Scientific-Research Institute of Medical Prophylaxis.

The next scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

"Study of the genesis and metamorphism of oil with the presence of bentonite under the influence of gamma rays" was the subject of the seminar talk given by Ismayilova Mehpare, an Institute doctorate student.

The report-election conference of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute was held

The report-election conference of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute of Radiation Problems was held.

The meeting's chairman and corresponding member of ANAS, I.I. Mustafayev, gave a speech and acquainted the attendees with the topics on the agenda. The meeting was attended by associate professor Sitara Baghirova, who is a member of the United Trade Union Committee of Scientific Organizations and the Presidium of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the conference, Amina Mikayilova, an associate professor and PhD holder in physics, presented her report as chair of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute. The speakers, the Executive Director of the Institute and Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, Associate Professor Yadigar Jafarov, Associate Professor Hokmen Mahmudov, Associate Professor Mazahir Bayramov, and Latifa Gojayeva, suggested that the activity of the trade union during the reporting period be considered satisfactory.

An event dedicated to "March 1 - International Civil Defense Day" was held at the institute

An event dedicated to "March 1 - International Civil Defense Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In his introduction speech, Taleh Mammadov, the head of the Civil Defense Headquarters, discussed the institution's history, responsibilities, and roles within it.

Subsequently, R. Mehdiyeva, the institute's executive director, spoke about radiation safety and the actions that should be performed to safeguard against and remove any potential radiation risk.

The institute hosted a commemorative ceremony for Khojaly Genocide Day on February 26

The Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted a commemorative event for the Khojaly genocide. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the dear memory of our martyrs was commemorated with one minute of silence. Professor Islam Mustafayev, the corresponding member of ANAS and general director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, opened the event by stating that 32 years have passed since the Khojaly Genocide, the worst tragedy of the 20th century, and that the murder of the victims of this tragedy, which we remember with heavy hearts every year, was avenged. Additionally, he declared that Khojaly, our old and eternal territory, was liberated from the oppression of the enemy due to the wise policy of the Commander-in-Chief and our magnificent army. We also exacted revenge on the martyrs of Khojaly. The martyrs of Khojaly are at peace in spirit, and their lands are at liberty today. In Khankendi and Khojaly, the Azerbaijani flag is flown.

Undergraduates and Master’s students do internships

A meeting was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan with university students who would participate in industrial experience based on mutual cooperation with higher education institutions.

Students pursuing bachelor's degrees from Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Baku State University, and Azerbaijan Technical University will participate in a three-month industrial internship at the Institute of Radiation Problems. Master's students of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction will have a scientific-research experience for 4 weeks in the scientific-research laboratories of the Institute of Radiation Problems.
