In 2022, the employees of the institute defended 8 doctorate of philosophy and 1 doctorate of science dissertations in the direction of personnel training. Currently, 8 employees of the institute are conducting research at the Dubna United Nuclear Research Institute, 1 employee is studying at Oslo University in Norway, and 1 employee is studying at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.

Elchin Huseynov, a 35-year-old young doctor of sciences whose scientific works are published in world-ranked and high-index journals, and Matlab Mirzayev, a doctor of philosophy in physics, have been included in the list of the world's best 2% scientists for 2022 presented by Elsever publishing house.

The report also touched upon the Institute's international relations and application of scientific innovations. It was reported that three devices were developed at the Institute of Radiation Problems this year, one of which was exhibited at the "Teknofest Azerbaijan" Aerospace and Technology Festival held in Baku on May 26-29.

5 grant projects are implemented in the institute, 2 of which are AEBA, 2 are SOCAR Science Fund, and 1 is EIF-AzTurk. This year, the employees of the institute won the HORIZON 2020 grant.

The institute's international relations have expanded further in 2022. A cooperation agreement was concluded with the Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic, and new detector modules were developed within the framework of the agreement.

In cooperation with the Nuclear Radiation Detectors Application and Research Center of Turkey's Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University, cooperation is being carried out in the direction of developing new silicon-based PIN and pixel photodiodes, as well as in 2022, new silicon-based Si-PIN photodiodes were developed within the framework of joint cooperation. Currently, joint research is being conducted with Canada's Zecotek Photonics Inc., Russia's United Nuclear Research Institute, Czech Republic's Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics, Portugal's Lusóbona University, Ukraine's Lashkaryov Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Germany's Dortmund Technical University Faculty of Physics, and Belarus' Belarus State University.
