Awarded young scientists of the Institute of Radiation Problems

An event dedicated to the February 2 - Youth Day was organized by the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS and Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Academy.

Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Ogtay Samadov recalled that the First Forum of Azerbaijani Youth was held on February 2, 1996 and the Day of Youth in our country was announced by the Decree signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1997. He said that the youth policy laid down by the great leader was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, and a number of decrees and orders were signed by the head of state in this direction.

Young scientists and specialists of the Institute of Radiation Problems are actively involved in the scientific and public life of the academy. Their results of research work are published in journals with high impact factor, O. Samadov noted.

Then the deputy director of science of the enterprise Ph.D. in Physics Assoc. Prof. Ravan Mehdiyeva spoke on the initiative of the leadership of the country to create the "Rising Competition", created a reserve bank in the country to identify promising young people with high intellectual level and managerial skills. He urged the young researchers of the enterprise to take an active part in the competition. In addition, the need for young people to use the National Information System "Scientific Staff" developed by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev "On Additional Measures to Improve the Attestation of Scientific and Scientific-Pedagogical Staff in the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated December 10, 2018, was stressed out.

Famin Salmanov, chairman of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Ph.D. in Physics Assoc.Prof., said that in recent years, significant work has been done in our country to increase scientific and social activity of young people. He also higlighted the adoption of State Program "Azerbaijan Youth in 2017-2021" as well as "Strategy of Azerbaijani Youth Development in 2015-2025".

Later on, young scholars from the Institute of Radiation Problems - Narmin Guliyeva, Samir Samadov and Fargan Asadov, who distinguished for their scientific-social activities in 2019, were awarded diplomas and cash prizes.
