Head Laboratory of Energy-Saving Radiation Processes of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, expert of the UN Environment Program, corresponding member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev attended the international video conference.

Along with Azerbaijan, the conference was attended by 16 representatives from the USA, Denmark, Bahrain, Singapore and other countries.

An international videoconference, held in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi online, discussed the increasing role of scientists and the public in environmental decision-making.

In his speech, I. Mustafayev spoke about the legislative and institutional potential in the field of environment in Azerbaijan, shared his experience in this area. Speaking about the activities carried out by ANAS and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of the environment, the scientist spoke about the participation of representatives of scientific and public organizations in the discussion of projects aimed at improving the technical potential and environmental impact assessment.

I. Mustafayev also told the videoconference participants about the meaning and main articles of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Public Participation”.
