The environmental health policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the route leading the Republic of Azerbaijan to COP-29

The Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event with the support of YAP LPO to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the birth of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, who founded our modern statehood.

The Republic of Azerbaijan's National Anthem opened the ceremony, and a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the great leader and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to free our country from foreign rule.

The ceremony was devoted to Heydar Aliyev's contribution to the development of Azerbaijan's environmental policy, in keeping with the announcement of 2024 as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World". Speaking at the event, the Director General of the Institute and corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, spoke about the activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his invaluable services in the fields of economy, science, and education, and the development of culture, as well as the environment in our country during his leadership in Azerbaijan.

Islam Mustafayev pointed out that Heydar Aliyev's tremendous founding activities and personality shaped more than 50 years of Azerbaijan's history in the 20th century; Heydar Aliyev is credited with creating modern Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the following people received recognition: Professor I. Mustafayev, the director general of the institute; Professor Rahim Madatov, who works for the institute; and Namig Heydarov, the leader of the Innovative Research Group, who trained the students of the Bilasuvar Kindergarden, School, and Lyceum complex named after National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, which won the silver medal at the 11th Republican Competition "Scientists of Tomorrow".

Islam Mustafayev also told the participants of the event about the activities of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and delivered a wide-ranging speech demonstrating Azerbaijan's international reputation and commitment to the environmental agenda by hosting an important conference such as COP-29.

Later, speaking at the event, the executive director of the RPI, the chairman of the LPO, and associate professor Ravan Mehdiyeva spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev's multifaceted activities for the improvement of the environment during the first and second periods of his leadership in the Republic of Azerbaijan and emphasized that those years are the most important in the founding history of Azerbaijan. She introduced the attendees to the decrees, laws, and orders he signed regarding the environment and underlined that Azerbaijan developed into a state that was reliable in its political stability, ensured dynamic economic development, and integrated into the global community under the great leader's rule. Heydar Aliyev was greatly appreciated by his people for his efforts for the state and nation. A video honoring the great leader was viewed, and the song "DAHI" by People's Artist Faig Aghayev was listened to.

The song "Azerbaijan" was performed at the conclusion, honoring the ultimate achievement of the great leader Heydar Aliyev–the national state, the independent Republic of Azerbaijan–that he led and bestowed upon our people.
