The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). Speaking at the meeting, Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

The event focused on the results of joint research conducted under the Agreement on Technical Cooperation signed between the RPI and the Plant Protection and Technical Plants Scientific Research Institute (UNRI) in Ganja and covering the period 2021-2024.

Corresponding member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev first greeted the guests and stressed that the cooperation has already borne fruit, as well as the importance of such cooperation.

Afterwards, Aladdin Tagiyev, Head of the Technical Plant Breeding Department, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, and Intizar Zeynalov, Research Fellow of the UNDP, thanked for the warm hospitality and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Institute of Radiation Problems.

The guests reported on the joint research on "Creation of a mutant form of gamma rays on cotton seeds" and reported on the results of research to increase the productivity of the plant and its resistance to drought and soil salinization, as well as the development of new varieties.

The report was considered satisfactory, the questions of the meeting participants were answered.

At the meeting of the Scientific Council, the issue of the International Conference "Radiation Technologies and Radiation Safety" to be held in 2022 on RPI was discussed.
