A scientific seminar on "Spectroscopic research methods" was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). Along with the participants from other institutes of ANAS, bachelors, masters and doctoral students from a number of higher education institutions also took part in the event.

In his introductory speech at the seminar, the head of the laboratory of the Institute, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Muslim Gurbanov greeted the participants and voiced his views on the topic.

Then, the senior researcher of the Institute, Doctor of Physics Nushaba Hajiyeva informed the participants about the history of spectroscopic research and research conducted in this direction at the institute.

Then, the leading researcher of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Sevinj Malikova made a report on the subject. In her report, S.Malikova gave general information about molecular spectroscopic methods (IR-spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy). During the seminar, a poster-presentation was shown with information about the most modern devices in the field of spectroscopy.

The report was met with interest and many questions of the participants were answered at the end.

Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Ali Mammadov noted that trainings in this field will be held in the future.
