An event dedicated to "September 27 - Memorial Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

An event dedicated to "September 27 - Memorial Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first, and then at 12:00, the dear memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Professor Islam Mustafayev, general director of the Institute of Radiation Problems and corresponding member of ANAS, spoke at the commemorative event and expressed his pride in our soldiers and officers while describing the heroic story of the Patriotic War and the gallant Azerbaijani army.

Regarding the recent anti-terrorist operations carried out under the direction of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I. Mustafayev stated that new military spoils were achieved and that they were completed with success in a short amount of time. He mentioned that Khankendi already has our tricolor holy flag flying.

Speaking later, the Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, said that the 44-day Patriotic War was won decisively by the Army, the president, and the unity of the people. In her speech, R. Mehdiyeva discussed the xenophobic policies and territorial demands of Armenian nationalists in the last 200 years of our history. She also stressed that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief is the only individual and the first leader to be successful in liberating the lost territories occupied by the enemy and returning them to the people.

The parents of veterans and Institute employees who had fought in the first and second Karabakh wars spoke at the commemorative event and expressed their admiration for the Azerbaijani army's magnificent victory as well as their respect for the heroes who gave their lives to preserve the Motherland's territorial integrity.

It should be noted that prior to the occasion, the Institute's Council of Young Scientists and Specialists paid a visit to II Fakhri Khiyaban and lay flowers on the graves of our martyrs who gave their lives defending the country.
