An event was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems on the occasion of Independence Day

On October 17, 2023, a ceremonial event was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems on the occasion of Independence Day. Prior to the playing of the national anthem, there was a minute of silence at the ceremony to honor the memories of our youngsters who lost their lives in the Karabakh war.

The institute's general director, I.Mustafayev, gave the opening remarks, outlining the significance of the day our nation regained its freedom as well as the path that led to this point. The institute's executive director, R.Mehdiyeva, was then granted the floor. She declared that today marks the official restoration of our nation's independence following an all-out and resounding victory. She stated that on October 15, when the Supreme Commander hoisted the Republic of Azerbaijan's tricolour flag in Khankendi, our nation's independence was fully restored.

Next, the general director, I.Mustafayev, provided details about the conference being organized in conjunction with Nakhchivan State University to commemorate the academician M.Karimov's 75th birthday. Karimov served as the president of ANAS for 13 years and as the director of the Institute of Radiation Problems for 17 years. Professor R.Madatov, Ph.D., B.Najafov, Ph.D. in physics, M.Mammadov, and other institute staff members shared their recollections of M.Karimov.

At the end of the event, the grave of M.K.Karimov was collectively visited in Fakhri Hiyaban, and flowers were placed on the grave monument.
