An employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS participated in a training course organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the French Atomic Energy Commission (FAEC)

Abbasova Yurik Cicek , an employee of the Laboratory of Innovative Ionizing Beam Receivers of the ANAS Institute of Radiation Problems, participated in the training course on” Radioactive tracers and Gamma Scanning certification” organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the French Atomic Energy Commission on June 27, 2022 in Saclay, France. The purpose of the event was to teach the participants the basic knowledge and practical experience of radio tracer and gamma scanning methods applied to technological devices in order to obtain a Certificate in Radioactive tracer methodology (RTM/RTD) and Sealed Source Methods - Gamma Scanning Techniques (SSM/SCT).

The training course consisted of two parts: theoretical and practical. Topics covered during the theoretical training week included principles and a brief overview of radiotracer techniques used in industry and sediment transport studies, and gamma scanning techniques used for environmental studies.

The second week of the training was devoted to conducting experiments in laboratory conditions on the study of the radioactive tracer method and the Gamma scanning technique (SSM/CST).

At the end of the training, the exam of the theoretical part and practical work was held, and the participant who succeeded in the exam was awarded with Level 2 competence certificates.
