The group of “Dating Archeological Findings” has achieved new results

The group of "Dating Archeological Findings", created at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) has gained a new result in its research on age determination.

Thus, the junior scientific researcher of the Institute, Aybeniz Ahadova, determined the age of coal from the Polutapa ancient settlement in the Jalilabad region by the Radiocarbon method, and as a result she proved that the coal belonged to 4600 BC before our era.

It should be noted that in the researches carried out by the group, dating archeological findings was carried out in 3 different methods (radiocarbon, electron paramagnetic resonance and thermoluminescence methods) and the age of the findings was determined.
