At the Institute was held a meeting devoted to "Science Day"

At the Institute of Radiation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan was held a meeting on March 27 with the winners of the "Tomorrow’s scientists" competition.

At the meeting held on March 27 related to "Knowledge Day" in accordance with the action plan of the Academy director of the Institute, correspondent member of ANAS Ogtay Samadov spoke about the role of science in the development of the state and its role in the society.

Referring to the integration of science and education, the speaker noted that one of the important issues facing us is the upbringing of future generations with a sound mind and high scientific knowledge.

In this direction young scientists who knowledge at the Institute of Radiation Problems for many years have been successful in national and international competitions and have honored with high awards every year.

O.Samadov emphasized that, especially employees of the institute the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, Professor Rovshan Khalilov, doctor of physics, docent Matanat Mehrabova, PhD in biology, docent Aygun Nasibova intensively work on this direction.

O.Samedov said that, as every year, their high school learners were the winners of the 8th Republican Contest "Tomorrow’s scientists" this year.

It was noted that, 9th grader of Baku European high school Isgandar Yusifzade was awarded 1st place on medical and health department for his project “Using iron-based nanoparticle systems for targeted drug delivery” and 9th grade learners of "Young Talents Lyceum" at Baku State University Nijat Omarli and Maryam Bayramova were awarded 3rd place for their project.

It was reported that, under the direction of corresponding member of ANAS, professor Oktay Samadov, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, professor Rahim Madatov and doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, professor Adil Abdullayev learners’ scientific research work also were awarded.

Then the doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, Professor Rovshan Khalilov, PhD on Physics, docent Matanat Mehrabova and PhD in Biology, docent Aygun Nasibova talked about the importance of such competitions, the stimulus for young people and the conditions created in the Institute in this direction.

It was noted that such scientific research works, distinguished with scientific innovation, application possibilities and modernity have a great importance in the proper formulation of future scientific activities of the younger generation.

Then the presentations of the learners were listened, discussions were held and "tomorrow's scientists" answered the questions.
