At the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was held the seminar-lecture devoted to the 27th of March "Science Day".

Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Oktay Samadov commented on the Presidential Order related of the Day of Science, and on this occasion participants of the seminar informed on the action plan approved by decision of the Coordinating Council for Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 17, 2019.

Then according to the mentioned action plan deputy director for science, docent Ravan Mehdiyeva performing in seminar-lecture dedicated to the topic “Nanomaterials and their application in techniques" noted that the development of science and technology in our time is associated with the use of new and high-quality materials and substances.

She noted that, in the coming year nanomaterials, their nano-technologies, scientific and technical programs aimed at obtaining new materials and substances with high-tech indicators and durability indicators are of great importance.

The speaker emphasized that one of the research areas of the Institute of Radiation Problems is the acquisition of nanomaterials, the radiation process with the participation of nanomaterials, as well as nanoparticles and eventually, the creation of nano-radiation technologies.

Later, R.Mehdiyeva informed students about research on determination the regularity of the processes under the influence of ionizing radiation on important nanoparticles, substances and materials for the above mentioned directions at the institute, ways to increase their durability and improve their properties.
