Reporting meetings are hold at the institute for the year 2019-3

Reporting meetings of laboratories and departments on the results of research conducted in 2019 at the Institute of Radiation Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) are continuing. The third meeting has been held today according to the schedule.

Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Professor Prof. Ogtay Samadov congratulated the participants on the occasion of October 18 - National Day of Independence and spoke about the history and importance of the people of Azerbaijan.

Afterwards, the head of the Laboratory of “Environmental Radiation Chemistry”, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Muslim Gurbanov gave detailed information about the research carried out by the laboratory in the current year. Gurbanov said that the laboratory has achieved 2 results as a result of the 2019 studies. In total, 10 articles and 1 thesis were published by the laboratory staff, 7 articles of the were published in abroad.

The leading scientist of the laboratory, PhD in Chemistry, Sahib Mammadov, gave a speech at the workshop on “Dentistry of Natural Dosimeters as a Center for Teaching of Kinetics and Mechanisms of Radiation and Photochemical Transformation in Organic Contaminants” gave detailed information about the research to the participants of the meeting.

Later, the head of the laboratory “Radiation Chemistry of Heterogeneous Processes”, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Teymur Agayev made a presentation on the effectiveness of the laboratory. He said that in 2019, 2 studies were conducted in the laboratory, 4 results were published and 8 articles and 7 theses were published, including 4 abroad. At the end of his speech T.Agayev informed the participants about the scientific activities of the laboratory staff, which were reflected in the Google Scolar platform.

Later, the head of the Laboratory of “Radiobiology”, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Elimkhan Jafarov informed about the activities of the laboratory in 2019, in the field of international relations and training. According to Jafarov, this year the laboratory staff obtained 1 result, published 9 articles and 4 abstracts, including 9 abroad, as well as a book entitled Radiation Dosimetry and Radiation Safety (author: E.S. Jafarov)

Subsequently, Nizami Rzayev, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biology, presented a research report on the study of the effect of mutation on hybrid production and germination in some grains and grasses of various doses. N. Rzayev also said that as a result of this research, 9 results were obtained, 2 articles were published and 3 patents were obtained.

At the end of the meeting, the head of “Radioprotectors” Laboratory, PhD in Chemistry, Associate Professor Asim Abdullayev made a speech on the activities of the laboratory in 2019, researches and acquisitions. He said that the laboratory has achieved 3 results as a result of research conducted this year and has investigated the scope of application of these results, as well as published 3 articles and 4 theses, 3 articles have been published abroad, and 1 patent received a positive review.
