The postage stamp issued by the “Azermarka” LLC on the occasion of the 100^th anniversary of Honorary Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Lifelong Professor of the University of Berkeley, Honorary Editor-in-Chief of the journals “Information Society Problems” and “Information Technology Problems” of the Institute of Information Technology, world-famous scientist Lotfi Zade was met with interest.

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was held.

In his introductory speech at the meeting, Director General of IRP, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

First of all, the issues on the launch of the "Register of dissertation topics" system for the Coordination Council of Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as approval of the thematic plan of five-year research work in 2021-2025, planning of scientific research work at ANAS for 2022 and changes in the structure of IRP were considered.

Today, the winners of the “Best Article” competition among the youth of the Institute announced by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) together with the Trade Union of IRP on the occasionn of "November 8 - Victory Day" were awarded.

Speaking at the event, Director General of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev congratulated the winners and wished them success in their future scientific activities.

Reporting meetings of laboratories and departments on the results of scientific research conducted in 2021 were held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

The first meeting, which is scheduled to be held in accordance with the quarantine rules and schedule, took place today.

Speaking at the meeting, Director General of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev acquainted the participants with the current issues on the agenda.

Senior researcher of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Elchin Huseynov won the "Victory Award in Science - 2021" competition. Thus, the Science Development Foundation (SDF) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) organized the "Victory Award in Science - 2021" competition in connection with the World Science Day and November 8 - Victory Day.

An event dedicated to “November 8 - Victory Day” was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) together with the Women's Council of the IRP.

First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded at the event. Then the holy souls of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Motherland were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Ravan Mehdiyeva, Executive Director and Chairwoman of the Women's Council, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, made an introductory speech at the event and congratulated the numerous staff of the Institute on the first anniversary of the historical Victory - Victory Day, achieved thanks to the successful policy of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the heroism of the brave Azerbaijani Armed Forcesa and wished them success in their activities.

Another success of the scientist of the Institute: “the youngest doctor of sciences”

Recently, senior researcher of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Elchin Huseynov was awarded the degree of Doctor of Physics by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Elchin Huseynov, born in 1986 in Saatli region, has been an employee of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS since 2010. The young scientist entered the doctoral studies on Radiation Materials Science at the Institute in 2011. In 2014, he get PhD degree in physics, and since that year he has been the head of the Department of “Radiation Materials Science and Radiation Nanotechnology” at the National Center for Nuclear Research.

The staff of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) visited the grave of the former president of ANAS, academician Mahmud Karimov on the 73rd anniversary of his birth in the Alley of Honors and laid wreaths and flowers at the tombstone.

An event entitled “Our independence is eternal, irreversible!" dedicated to October 18 - "Independence Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

Speaking at the event, Director General of IRP, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev and Executive Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva spoke about Azerbaijan's Independence Day and Day of Restoration of Independence, as well as the services of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in restoration and strengthening of state independence.

The first meeting of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS) of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was held with new composition.

In her introductory speech, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics Gunel Imanova greeted the participants and stressed the importance of working hard to justify this confidence in the members of the Council.

A meeting on the establishment of the new composition of a new Council of Young Scientists and Specialists was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

At the beginning of the meeting, Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev spoke about the role of youth in science and stressed the importance of more active youth.

Leading researcher of the Laboratory of “Transformation of Renewable Energy Sources” of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Honorary Doctor and Professor of the International Eco-Energy Academy, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics Oktay Salamov elected a member of the editorial board of the international scientific journal “Collocuium-journal”, published in Poland.
