An event dedicated to "March 1 - International Civil Defense Day" was held

An event dedicated to "March 1 - International Civil Defense Day" on the topic "Role of risks in information technologies" was held in the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Khayyam Safikhanov, the chief engineer of RPI, gave a speech and gave information on the topic at the event held according to the approved Action Plan of the Institute for 2023.

Later, Taleh Mammadov, head of the Civil Defense Headquarters of the Institute, informed the event participants about the history of "March 1 - International Civil Defense Day" and the work done in this field in Azerbaijan, and answered their questions.

An event dedicated to February 26 - Khojaly Genocide Day was held at the institute

An event dedicated to "February 26 - Khojaly Genocide Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event jointly organized by the Institute's Trade Union and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, and then the dear memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a 1 (one) minute silence.

The General Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who gave an introductory speech at the commemorative event, said that the tragedy of Khojaly is a bloody page of the genocide and ethnic cleansing policy of Armenian nationalists against our people for centuries, and noted that it is a merciless crime committed against mankind and humanity due to its ruthlessness and cruelty. He said that our people have not forgotten and will never forget the atrocities of the hated enemy, as well as the participants in these crimes.

4 students’ projects led by scientists of the Institute of Radiation Problems won an award

The students led by the scientist of the Institute of Radiation Problems won the prize at this year's "Scientists of Tomorrow" XII national competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the BP company.

A meeting has been held with university students who will get industrial experience at the Institute of Radiation Problems

A meeting has been held with university students who will get industrial experience based on mutual cooperation with higher education institutions at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Director of RPI, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, greeted the students and also informed about the history of the Institute, scientific research directions, achievements and personnel potential.

In his speech, I. Mustafayev also touched on the interaction between science and education and talked about the traditionally organized Republican competition called "Scientists of Tomorrow" and its importance. At the same time, he said that the scientists of the Institute actively participated in this year's competition and 4 projects developed under their leadership were the winners.

The consortium with the participation of the Institute of Radiation Problems won the international grant competition under the "Horizon" Program

The project called "Innovative Photodetector Module for Advanced Hybrid "Magnetic Resonance/Positron Emission Tomography" Scanners for Nuclear Medicine" declared the winner which will be prepared by the scientists of the "Innovative ionizing radiation receivers" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to study the application of new silicon-based photoelectronic amplifiers in Hybrid Scanners.

The project presented under the call HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01 and financed by the European Commission is planned to be implemented in 6 work packages within 48 months.

The young scientist of the institute was awarded the scientific degree "Doctor of Sciences"

Associate Professor Famin Tahir oglu Salmanov, the leading researcher of the "Radiation Physics of Magnetoelectrics" laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was awarded the scientific degree of "Doctor of Physical Sciences" by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 17.01.2023.

An event dedicated to the International Day of "Women and Girls in Science" was held on February 11

An event dedicated to the February 11 UN International Day of "Women and Girls in Science" was held under the joint organization of the Women's councils of the Institute of Radiation Problems and the Institute of Physics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The management of the Women's Organization of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and women employees of the institutes took part in the event.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event.

Later, the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of the Motherland, as well as the victims of the earthquake who died in our brotherly Turkey, were commemorated with respect and reverence.

Institute of Radiation Problems joined the aid campaign for Turkey

The Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan joined the aid campaign to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey. Thus, the staff of the Institute transferred the funds collected in the form of donations to the bank account (in "Ziraat Bank") of the Natural Disaster and Emergencies Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey (AFAD) in connection with the natural disaster.

It should be noted that the humanitarian aid collected by a group of employees of the Institute was delivered to the aid collection point in Baku.

The next scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the seminar, the General Director of the Institute, the corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev spoke about the importance of the seminar and said that such events will be held regularly.

Later, Samira Kahramanova, PhD student of the Institute and employee of the "Radiation Physics of Magnetoelectrics" laboratory, delivered a report entitled "Study of electrical instability of TlS and TlSe crystals exposed to gamma radiation".

The management of the Institute of Radiation Problems visited the Interactive Science Museum

The General Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, Executive Director, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, Scientific Secretary, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Amina Mikayilova and Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts Ali Mammadov visited the Interactive Science Museum located in Hadaf STEM High School.

During the visit, which took place at the invitation of the organizer and head of the said museum, Elchin Abbasov, numerous historical exhibits, as well as inventions, devices and equipment designed for practical understanding of physical and chemical laws by students were displayed.

An event dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems on February 2

An event dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the organization of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists and with the support of the Trade Union Organization of the Institute.

At the event, the dear memory of our martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of the Motherland, was commemorated with respect and reverence.

Then the General Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev, who made an opening speech, congratulated the young scientists and specialists on the occasion of "February 2 - Azerbaijan Youth Day" and wished them success in their future scientific and social activities. I. Mustafayev said that the youth policy, which is one of the fundamental directions in our country, was being successfully continued today, and our state had full confidence in the youth in all areas of scientific and social activity.

The next session of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the meeting participants.

The results of 2022 and the tasks ahead in the current year were discussed at the event.

A meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems

The next meeting was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Nijat Aliyev, head of the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Akbar Guliyev, an employee of the said agency, participated in the meeting as guests.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev greeted the guests and drew attention to the history, scientific-organizational activity and important results of the scientific institution he leads.
