The article, prepared by the staff of the Institute of Radiation Problems, was published in the Journal of Instrumentation
The scientific article devoted to the study of the possibilities of application of new silicon photoelectron amplifiers in nuclear forensics prepared by the employees of the Laboratory of Innovative Ionizing Beam Receivers of the Institute of Radiation Problems (Ph.D. Ziraddin Sadigov, Ph.D. Farid Ahmadov and other employees) was published in the Journal of Instrumentation (IF-1.12). In the article, gamma-ray lines with the energy of 185.7 keV and 1001 keV were used to determine the amount of uranium-235 and uranium-238 in natural and depleted uranium sources.

A commemorative event dedicated to "January 20 – National Mourning Day" was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Firstly, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played at the event.
Later, the dear memory of our martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of the Motherland, was commemorated with respect and reverence.

Namig Heydarov, a young scientist of the Institute of Radiation Problems, was a guest of "Morning Hour" program of "CBC FM" radio. In the mentioned program, the young scientist talked about technological innovations in the world and in Azerbaijan, and shared his experience with young people.

Aybeniz Ahadova, a young scientist of the Institute of Radiation Problems, made a presentation at the Azerbaijan Cooperation University. A. Ahadova, who gave a presentation at the seminar held in the format of a master class with the participation of the students of the University's “Museum, Archive work and Monuments protection” department, first informed about the activities of the "Radioisotope dating of archaeological finds" group at the Institute under the leadership of Sahib Mammadov, the leading researcher of IRP and said that currently 3 methods (Radiocarbon, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, Thermoluminescence) are applied in the research conducted in the laboratory.

A scientific seminar was held at the institute
A scientific seminar on “Organic waste recycling using modern detonation technologies” was organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Experts of the Institute of Radiation Problems.
The General Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who gave an introductory speech at the seminar, welcomed the participants and voiced his opinions about the importance of the seminar and the topic, the speaker also introduced Vugar Khudaverdiyev, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, employee of the Federal Research Center for Chemical Physics named after N.N. Semyonov to the participants of the seminar.
Radiation technologies are successfully applied in agriculture
In the scientific activity of the new era, conducting scientific research on the protection and effective use of the natural resources and biodiversity of the country has been determined as the main goal. One of the main research directions of the Institute of Radiation Problems is the application of radiation technologies in cotton and grain growing.
The employees of the institute working in this field were on a business trip to Ganja under the leadership of the executive director of RPI, doctor of philosophy in physics and mathematics, associate professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, and discussed the results of this year's research work.
The memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated in the institute
An event dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems. At the event, the great leader's dear memory was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Then the General Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Islam Mustafayev, who gave an introductory speech, talked about the life path of the eternal leader and his love for Azerbaijan, and the work done during the leadership of the country and informed about the ideology of Azerbaijanism, which was founded by Heydar Aliyev, and his contributions to the Azerbaijanis of the world.

Aybeniz Ahadova, a junior researcher at the Institute of Radiation Problems (RPI), gave a lecture at a scientific seminar organized for students at the Western Caspian University of Azerbaijan.
In her lecture, A. Ahadova talked about the activities of the special group "Historicizing Archaeological Finds" created under the leadership of Sahib Mammadov, the leading researcher of the Institute of Radiation Problems. Also, in the presentation shown during the seminar, she gave general information about the methods of dating (Radiocarbon, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance method and Thermoluminescence method) and the results obtained in the research.
The annual report of the Institute of Radiation Problems was heard
At the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Radiation Problems, the director's report on the results of scientific research in 2022 was heard. Academician Javad Abdinov, Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences(DPMTS) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences(ANAS), Salima Mehdiyeva, Corresponding Member of ANAS, and Rena Gasimova, Chief Specialist of the Scientific, Technical and Innovative Activity Organization Department of the Presidium of ANAS participated in the meeting.
Opening the meeting, director general of the institute, the corresponding member of ANAS, professor Islam Mustafayev said that in the 2022 reporting year, 21 scientific research works on 4 problems and 10 topics were conducted in the institute in accordance with the National Strategy for the Development of Science on radiation materials science, radiation technologies, and the scientific basis of radiation safety. All planned works have been completed.
